Rachel came to visit on Tuesday. She lives in Arizona now so we don’t get to see her much. But it’s always fun when she visits.
We went to happy hour (shocking, I know) and then came back to the house and had some more drinks (again, shocking) and played Trivial Pursuit.
I tried to convince her to move back here, but I doubt I was successful.

Was there even a remote chance of me being normal? These are my parental figures:

This is my dad and Jackie.
Here they are in their normal clothes. Wearing the scarves (and in Jackie's case, pot holders) I made for them.

Since everyone else is doing it…I thought I’d put together a list of the best TV shows this year. I don’t recall ever being this enamored with TV since, well, ever. Maybe it’s because I have Tivo and therefore if something even looks remotely good, I’ll record it and then decide after watching a few epis if it’s worth my time. But then again, I’ve had TiVo for years. Never have I had so many season passes. I have become a slave to my Tivo. Let’s see if I can keep it under ten, top ten shows:
Dexter -is it weird to have a crush on a serial killer? This is the one show that I really get excited to watch. Like, when it’s an hour before it’s on, I get all antsy.
24 -you can’t go wrong with Jack Bauer. This show gets better every season, I can’t wait til it starts up again.
How I Met Your Mother – the best sitcom since Friends and they actually drink on this show.
Lost -though I feel a tad out of place since I’m not playing the ARG
House - *sigh* need I say more?
Scrubs - why is no one watching this hilarious show? It has the suckiest ratings.
Bones - if they would dispense with the hologram thingy I could get Greg to watch it. It’s gotten better since the start.
Criminal Minds - This is the one about the profilers, not the Law & Order one. I miss my Rube (from Dead Like Me, Many Patinkin) so this is a nice fix. The stories are great and creeeeeeepy.
Top Chef -the only reality show I watch since they took off Starting Over, GO ILAN!
Dr. Who - and I didn’t like the old 70s Dr. Who at all…true this is nerdy, but soooo cool too.
Ghost Hunters -oh how I want them to catch a ghost at my house…oops I guess this is a reality show too. But not so much with the drama and divas.
The Office - and I’m not just saying that to be cool. I love this show, even though it’s hard to watch sometimes because I cringe for Michael.
OK nope, I could not keep it to ten. I am sure there are others that I love that have slipped my mind at the moment. So what are yours???

I just got home from work. I left early because of the weather.
It started snowing at, oh about noon. I left work at 1:30 and got home at 2:30. People, this is a 20 minute drive, usually. In two hours we have this much snow.
Actually I took this photo about 10 minutes ago so there's more now. The tree in front of Kadi's is leaning toward the neighbor's house.
I guess I should have brought Brianna's bike in!

We went out on Saturday night. We first went to Chino because we haven’t been there in ages. Many of our favorite bartenders were there: Emilia, Paddy (who has a new baby boy now), Sully, Graham, Jamie…it was really cool to see them all again. Better yet, that they recognized us.
Paddy asked if we were slumming it. Riiiight. Chino is one of the nicest bars around. And I’ve got to say they make some stroooong drinks. Sheesh. I could have gotten drunk off the vapors hovering over my glass. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
As you may know we often go to Aura. There is another regular we run into almost every time we’re there. It’s become a joke that if we go, how long will we sit there before Doug comes in. It’s usually not more than an hour.
So we’re sitting at Chino (not Aura) and who walks in? Yep. Doug. We laughed and made some jokes about cheating on Aura. But we must have felt bad, even though it was a joke, because we went to Aura after Chino. It was a fun night. The morning? Not so fun. But I’ve had much worse.
Oh so after we get home I see that someone called my cell phone but I missed it. I went to check the voicemail and it was from an “unknown number. Which is really weird because my cell phone at least always gives the number of the person who calls. I’ve never seen it come up ‘unknown’.
The message said, “Hi Amy lobster…this is the sushi place…WE HAVE YOUR FAMILYâ€?. Which is funny, right? Except, that I was hammered and didn’t really catch the lobster/sushi thing so I got a little nervous. So what did I do? Yep, I actually drunk dialed my parents to make sure they were not being held hostage!! They got a huge kick out of that. I think in the back of my mind, I knew it must be a joke, but the seriousness of the voice and the fact that someone was able to call me and have it show up ‘unknown’ was alarming to a drunk girl.
Damn Chino and their strong drinks. Though now that I think about it, that voice did sound a bit like Paddy…but I don’t know how he’d have gotten my number. It also sounded like Scott (bartender at Aura) but this person also sounded hammered (you know, when I listened again in the sober –or at least hungover– light of day) but those guys were both working so I doubt they were hammered.
It may remain a mystery.

I am feeling quite frustrated. I have NO work to do at work. I finished everything I need to get done this week on Wednesday afternoon. So here I sit.
I’ve already written some reviews, posted a whole bunch of them, read all my celebrity gossip, I even went shopping for ingredients for Christmas presents. (I spent waaaay too much at the fabric store)
So I thought I’d sit back and play around on MySpace. I get there and oooh I have a message! But when I click on it, it says I have to sign in. I thought perhaps someone had gotten my password and was messing with my account. So I changed my password.
That didn’t change anything. Then I thought I’d try using one of my other MySpace accounts and they all do the same thing. You can sign in, but whenever you click on anything it tells you to log in. But then when you log in, nothing happens you keep getting shot back to the log in page. Piece of shit. I don’t see how a website like that can break. Aren’t people on this like 24/7?
Ugh, I guess I’ll go read more about Brit. I’m holding Rupert Murdoch accountable for this.
Also, I have 2 purses, 4 scarves and a ton of candy to make. It drives me nuts to be sitting here doing nothing when I have $75 worth of yarn in my car.
