Doppelgangers?

I was watching an old [Twilight Zone episode] the other day and surprisingly it was one I had not seen before.

There was a scene where a woman was sitting at a table eating and drinking and talking with her husband. The actress seemed so familiar to me, but I didn’t recognize her name, Pippa Scott. I couldn’t figure out why I knew her. Turns out I did not, but she looked very much like another current actress, Jennifer Carpenter (she is Deb on “Dexter”). Startlingly like her really. Not just looks either, mannerisms were almost identical.

I did a little internet search on both women and didn’t see anything stating they were related, but I really wonder. Anyone know anything?

Here they are…(remember there is an almost 50 year time gap here)
Pippa Scott:

Jennifer Carpenter:

But I wish you could see them both in action because that makes them even more similar. Weird.

Just me bitching

I am hosting a pretty well known (in the pop world) artist this week. The response was so great the show sold out in a matter of days. So we added a second show. Also sold out very quick. This part makes me very happy.

Even though I stated on the site that the show was sold out I still got people trying to RSVP and giving me their sob stories about how they’re going to simply parish if I don’t let them in. One guy even got really rude and snippy with me. So I took down the links. Probably angered some others, but at least I never had to hear about it.

THEN because we have more people coming than we have chairs I am now getting people telling me that they want to come early (before the posted “door time’) to get a chair. One even offered to PAY me to reserve a chair!! Can you see that? ‘Oh sorry, I know you’re here on time, but Joe Schmo paid me to keep a seat open for him’…riiiiiight….and like I don’t have a bazillion other things to do while people are filing in!

It has been amazing to me the extent to which these people have expected special favors from me. Such entitlement. If I was going to grant anyone any favors it wouldn’t be some person I’ve never met, but someone who has been supporting this concert series for the past 8 years.

I know this show is going to be great, the artist is amazing and I adore her. I’ve been wanting this to take place for a long time. I just had no idea her fans were such nards. Because yes, it’s not MY people acting like this, but people I have never met before!

Sheesh.

Oh well, I made some yummy chocolate cookies and hope I can refrain from eating all of them before the show.

Overheard

Overheard on 11/03/2007 at 1st Wok Chinese Restaurant. Little girl at lunch with her friend and her friend’s mother:
“Have you ever been to the Pizza Ranch? It’s sooooooo goood!! They have pizza, pizza and more pizza. But I don’t like pizza so I had chicken.”
